Memory Cafe Assistant

We’re looking for volunteers at our Memory Cafe, to help us organise and run coffee morning for our residents.

Our Memory Cafe is a space for residents, community members, families and carers to come together to enjoy music and games, meet new people and share stories.

What’s involved:

Ensuring kitchen area is clean before preparing and serving hot and cold drinks during coffee morning for residents and the community. Food preparation for items like toast may also be needed for coffee mornings.
Empathy, listening skills and patience.
The role will require one to one support for some residents. This may include reminiscing, board games and music.

Time commitment

Fridays, 10:ooam – 12:30pm

Training

All our volunteers receive our volunteer induction and welcome training, and you will also get role-specific training.

Support

Volunteers will receive ongoing support with the Volunteer Coordinator, with regular one-to-one meetings arranged. The frequency of these will be determined by the time commitment of the volunteer and their individual needs.
